FAQ
Straight answers about how we work, what we charge, and what working with Dredge Partners looks like in practice.
We work on a small monthly retainer plus a share of net project profit. No large upfront fees. Our earnings are tied directly to project outcomes — if the project does not perform, neither do we. The retainer covers our standing capacity; the profit share is where both sides benefit from a project done well.
We work with all major dredging equipment types — cutter suction dredgers (CSD), trailing suction hopper dredgers (TSHD), backhoe dredgers, and support vessels. Equipment type does not change our approach. What matters is that you own the asset and want to use it more profitably.
Our primary markets are the Middle East, the Caspian Sea region, Africa, and Europe. Both founders have direct project experience across these regions and active networks with clients, port authorities, and contractors. We are based in Dubai and Amsterdam, which gives us strong reach across MENA and Europe.
We can typically begin within two to four weeks of signing an engagement letter. The first step is always a conversation to understand your fleet, your pipeline, and where you need the most support. From there we scope the engagement and agree terms before anything starts.
FIDIC is the international standard contract framework used across most major dredging and marine infrastructure projects. Understanding FIDIC means knowing your rights — when to claim variations, how to protect your programme, and how to avoid disputes that eat into project margin. Most equipment owners lose money not because they did the work wrong, but because they did not manage the contract correctly. We do.
Yes. Both founders have managed projects across multiple time zones throughout their careers. For critical project phases — mobilisation, major disputes, completion sign-off — we travel to site. Day-to-day project management, cost control, and contract administration can all be handled remotely with the right reporting structure in place.
No. Our client base is international. We work with any dredging equipment owner regardless of flag, nationality, or company structure. Our network covers Europe, MENA, and Asia, and our Dubai base means we are well positioned to work with owners across the Gulf, Caspian, and African markets.
The retainer covers our standing capacity and preparation work. If a specific tender is not won, we review what happened, adjust the approach, and continue. Our model is built around a pipeline of opportunities — not a single bet. Losing one tender is part of any serious BD programme. Losing margin on every project you win is a different problem, and that is where we add the most value.
Yes. Through our network we have access to certified dredge operators and trainers who can mobilise quickly and start producing from day one. We also run crew training programmes for existing operators moving to a new equipment type. See Our Network for full details.
